He feels something for her, but hates himself for it and tries to conceal it due to some perceived "weakness" or "vulnerability" he thinks would result. While their relationship has been going well lately, he's still afraid of attachment.

Wheatley somehow kidnapped Byrne and put him into a high-tech testing facility. Byrne doesn't know how it happened, but he loathes Wheatley for it. Also because Byrne kind of died in that testing facility too. (He was not permanently dead since it was during the Time Eater events.) If he could murder this metal sphere, he would gladly do so in a heartbeat.

[No longer present] Though they've interacted very little at the Academy, Byrne has a history with this Zelda. He robbed her of her body along with Cole, making her Spirit wander aimlessly. He feels guilt for this, but at the same time wants nothing to do with her. He's afraid that his past is catching up to him when he wanted to escape it. She's gone now though, and secretly he is worried about her.

[No longer present.] Pele is a mysterious individual, but is very intriguing. She has some sort of awesome power to shape the Earth, and Byrne is curious about it. She is also a very stoic sort, just like he is. Their conversations are usually short as a result.
